As a board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Jennifer Walden knows how having plastic surgery can help people look younger and feel better. Some of the procedures she specializes in include facelifts and nose jobs. Dr. Walden explains how over time the gravitational pull draws on facial skin often making it sag. This process also creates the lines and wrinkles people see as they get older. The plastic surgery procedures she performs can diminish the signs of aging by tightening the underlying muscle tissue and removing fat deposits. Depending on the extent of the skin’s aging process, these procedures could make people appear 10 to 15 years younger.
Not only is Dr. Jennifer Walden a leading plastic surgeon, she is also co-author of a book on aesthetic plastic surgery and a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. The dedication she has to the work she performs was exhibited even as a student when she was attending the Medical Branch of the University of Texas in Galveston, where she had the honor of being her class salutatorian. Although Dr. Walden grew up in Austin, Texas after graduation she accepted a fellowship position with the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.
As a board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Jennifer Walden has chosen to specialize in cosmetic surgery. In addition to performing facelift procedures and nose jobs she also performs breast augmentations, liposuction and Botox injections. She is one of only 851 women who are board certified in this country. She often comments on the different changes women need to address when choosing to become surgeons. Although the decision could place more pressure on a woman’s family life, Dr. Walden also sees the advantages to choosing this career path. As a woman she feels she can connect better with her patients who are also primarily women.
