Lawrence Bender

Lawrence Bender has had such a robust career as a film producer that it is difficult to narrow down his best works to one movie. One of the films that Lawrence Bender will be perhaps best known for is his role in producing Pulp Fiction. This cult classic was quite the edgy piece when it was first released. It has withstood the test of time as one of the most often quoted and referenced movies across generations. Lawrence Bender’s role in packaging some dynamic and poignant scenes cannot be understated. While there are plenty of scenes that elicit a guttural laugh, the overall production of the movie is so cutting-edge and innovative that the viewer is never able to completely relax into the script. This makes for an engaging and thought-provoking experience for the duration of the film.

Lawrence Bender has worked closely with Quentin Tarantino throughout his decades of producing top-quality films. His breakout film was Reservoir Dogs, which skyrocketed both Tarantino and Bender to almost instant fame. Bender was born in New York but grew up in New Jersey. He began a career in civil engineering and then switched to dance at The University of Maine. Unfortunately, Bender suffered a career-ending injury, and he had to look to expand into other performing arts opportunities.

Although Bender is primarily known for his work behind the camera, he is also keen on doing some cameo roles in his productions. For example, in Inglourious basterds: Volume 2, he played a restaurant patron in one scene. He has been recognized from multiple organizations for his excellence behind the camera. He was nominated three separate times for Best Picture from the Academy Awards. In addition, Bender was nominated for Best Film in 1995 for Pulp Fiction by the BAFTA Awards. He was the winner of the ACCA Best Most Picture award in 2009 for his work on Inglorious Bastards. Bender has branched out beyond film and is also the producer of major television series and documentary series. He is currently working on a documentary series featuring Nine Inch Nails and their 2007 album.
