Dr. David Samadi and Sunday Housecall Observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Dr. David Samadi, Lenox Hill Hospital’s Chief of Robotic Surgery and Chairman of Urology in New York City will appear on HousecallLivestream with Dr. Cynara Cromer. Dr. Coomer is the Cheif of Breast Surgery. Doctor CynaraCoomer is also Northwell Health Staten Island University Hospital’s Director of Compressive Breast Cancer Center.
Dr. Samadi will be interviewing Dr. Coomer and said he could not think of anyone more qualified than the doctor that was the main force in establishing the first Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center on Staten Island. He and Dr. Coomer are former colleagues when they were both at Lenox Hill Hospital. Though, he says she is one of the leading experts in breast health.
Prior to Dr. Coomer joining the University Hospital on Staten Island, she was a breast surgeon at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Coomer during her time at Mount Sinai developed a clinical practice focusing on treatment of malignant and benign breast diseases.
In a statement, Dr. Coomer said she is delighted to join Dr. Samadi on Sunday Housecall. She said she is thrilled to be a part of the doctors undertaking of educating the public about medical conditions including breast and prostate health. The interview Dr. Coomer stated will be about medical topics including breast cancer awareness in this month of Octobers during breast cancer awareness month.
Dr. David Samadi currently is the Chairman of Urology and Chief of Robotic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and the host of Sunday Housecall on Fox News. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles singularly and with other experts in their fields of medicine.
Dr. Samadi attended Stony Brook University earning a degree in biochemistry and earned his medical degree from S.U. N.Y. Stony Brook School of Medicine. He then attended Montefiore Medical Center to train in urology and then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine to train in proctology. He completed his oncology fellowship in proctology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and then a robotic radical prostatectomy fellowship at Henri Mondor Hospital Center in France.
Dr. Samadi joined Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and then afterward joined Mount Sinai School of Medicine faculty where he was named the Vice Chair of the Department of Urology and Chief of Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery. The doctor later moved his team to Lenox Hill Hospital where he was named the Chair of Urology and Chief of Robotic Surgery. He was also appointed as professor of urology at Hofstra North Short School of Medicine.
